CANSIGLIO THE INITIATIVES OF THE LAST WEEKEND IN AUGUST

Last remnants of August in the name of the many initiatives to be experienced in the splendid Cansiglio Forest . In fact, there are numerous initiatives proposed by Veneto Agriculture during this weekend, including guided visits to the museums present in the Piana and surroundings, easy excursions and thematic meetings.

First of all , the Museum of Man in Cansiglio "A. Vieceli" - Cimbrian Ethnographic and Culture Center is open (Saturday and Sunday: 10.00-12.30 and 14.00-18.00); the "G. Lorenzoni" Alpine Botanical Garden (same time); the "G. Zanardo" Ecology Museum (same time but closed in the afternoon at 17:00).

For Saturday 29 August , the guided tour with expert to the Botanical Garden (15: 00-16: 30) by the Naturalistic Association " G. Lorenzoni " and the easy evening excursion (18: 30-20: 30) in the Foresta dei Dogi, one of the most important green lungs of Veneto, in one of the most interesting areas for both historical and naturalistic aspects. The meeting of the participants is foreseen at the Museum of Man, in Pian Osteria ( costs : € 12 adults, € 6 children aged 12-18, free for children under 12). Sunday 30 August (10.30 - 12.30) the meeting " Medicinal plants and home preparations " is scheduled, organized by the Naturalistic Association " G. Lorenzoni " and Samuele Reina , who will illustrate the benefits of spontaneous officinal plants and the possible preparations for self-medication or for the preparation of simple cosmetics. In the afternoon (14.00-15.30) there will be a guided tour of the "Museum of Man in Cansiglio" to learn about the events that have taken place in this area from prehistoric times to today, an initiative by the Cimbri del Cansiglio Cultural Association. Another guided tour of the Botanical Garden is also scheduled from 15:00 to 16:30. Finally, from 16:30 to 17:30, the Naturalistic Association "G. Lorenzoni" and Valeria Covre propose the meeting " There is life in the Ancient Forest! ", A short guide dedicated to the animals present in Cansiglio: Which ones are they? when and how to observe them? how to interpret their tracks? An interesting and engaging meeting.
