CAIAROSSA PROTAGONIST AT RIPAWINE

  • 08/07/2026

Biodiversity, territory, and wine culture are at the heart of the debate on the future of agriculture.

Caiarossa will be among the protagonists of RipaWine 2026 , the event that for the past nine years has brought the village of Riparbella to life during the second weekend of July, celebrating the Tuscan coast's excellent wines through tastings, meetings, culture, music, and food. This event aims to showcase wine as a driving force for promoting a region rich in biodiversity.

On the final day of the festival, Sunday 12 July at 6:00 pm , at the Riparbella Municipal Gym , Caiarossa will participate in the round table “ The value of the land: protecting the territory between tradition and innovation ”, a moment of discussion dedicated to the role of agriculture in protecting the landscape and in the sustainable development of local communities.

Topics covered included climate change, natural resource management, soil fertility, biodiversity conservation, the economic sustainability of agricultural businesses, and wine tourism as a driver of regional growth.

Nestled in the hills of Riparbella and overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, Caiarossa is one of the pioneers of biodynamics in Tuscany. The estate has been Demeter certified since 2003 and today cultivates 40 hectares of certified biodynamic vineyards , nestled in an ecosystem that includes woods, olive groves, and Mediterranean scrub. This approach places the balance between agriculture and nature at its core, with the aim of expressing the authentic identity of the territory through wine. " The land is our most precious heritage, and protecting it means taking on a responsibility towards future generations , " says Emilio Mancini , director of Caiarossa. " For over twenty years, we have been pursuing a biodynamic path that has taught us how essential it is to work in harmony with the environment and humanity. Today, more than ever, we believe that respect for the land is the right path to building an agriculture capable of creating lasting value ."

The round table will host a discussion dedicated to biodynamics with the participation of Elisabetta Foradori , one of the most authoritative interpreters of Italian biodynamic viticulture, and Carlo Brivio of the Tuscan Biodynamic Community – ETS School of the Living, who will offer their contribution on the future of sustainable viticulture.

Following this, the participating producers will lead the audience through a masterclass dedicated to the wines of Riparbella and the Tuscan Coast , a tasting journey through the region's diverse winemaking traditions. Caiarossa will present some of its most representative labels, both in the masterclass and at the tasting tables, illustrating the connection between biodiversity, soil, and wine identity.

This event confirms the region's desire to promote open dialogue on the issues of sustainability, landscape protection, and the future of agriculture, while also showcasing the extraordinary winemaking richness that makes Riparbella one of the most interesting areas on the Tuscan coast.
