Black Stardust, part of Bottega's "Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection," has been selected among the select finalists in the "Fine Wines and Champagne" category of Pentawards, a prestigious international design competition. The Black Stardust bottle, conceived and designed by Monica Lisetto, Bottega's Image Director, is studded with black crystals. The 3,000 pieces are positioned by hand to create a stardust effect. The all-black finish is further enhanced by a glittery label and capsule. Bottega Black Stardust, launched in conjunction with the 2025 harvest, is an Extra Brut Prosecco produced with grapes from the 2021 harvest. The four-year aging period is the result of a Prosecco promotion project that Bottega began developing over a decade ago. The Treviso winery's stated goal is to produce the highest-quality sparkling wines by extending fermentation times, resulting in wines with a more complex character and good longevity. The unique characteristics that elevate the quality of this Prosecco sparkling wine are: Selection of a single vineyard in the most suitable area of the UNESCO World Heritage Hills; Glera grapes grown sustainably and harvested only by hand when perfectly ripe; Pre-fermentation cold maceration to fully preserve the grapes' sensory profile; Aging in new "horizontal" autoclaves, the result of the most advanced technological research applied to quality winemaking; Slow fermentation in the autoclave (over 9 months, while Prosecco typically takes about 1 month), to obtain a wine with an exclusive sensory profile. In short, a top-notch quality in the winemaking world, comparable to the world's most prestigious sparkling wines. Bottega Black Stardust is characterized by a straw yellow color with golden highlights and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, refined notes of ripe apple and pear introduce the characteristic aromas of bread crust and the complex scents of long fermentation. On the palate, it is dry, intriguing, and persistent, with a pleasant flavor. This wine pairs perfectly with raw fish and oysters. Ideal with seafood dishes, even complex ones.
Pentawards Founded in 2007, Pentawards is committed to recognizing design excellence, providing inspiration, and connecting the global packaging community through an annual competition, international conferences, and digital events. The pentagon is the official symbol of Pentawards for five reasons: it recalls the shape of the historic center of Brussels, where the competition was born; it is an ancient symbol of beauty; the five fingers of the hand are an important design tool for humans; the Pentawards offer five different levels of award; and humans have five primary senses from which we draw inspiration. Since 2007, Pentawards has recognized global excellence in packaging design through an annual competition. In 19 years, the competition has received over 36,000 entries from over 95 countries, with winners who have made their mark on the global packaging scene. The international jury is composed of leading figures in packaging design and vividly represents the entire global packaging landscape.
