BORTOLOMIOL NEW ARTIST'S LIVES AT THE FILANDETTA PARK

  • 11/10/2020

"Table", Filandetta Park - Valdobbiadene (TV)

The Filandetta Park , the result of the restoration of the ancient spinning mill of Valdobbiadene, strongly desired by the Bortolomiol family, is confirmed as the protagonist of the cultural panorama of the Prosecco Superiore hills. The land art collection housed inside the Park is now enriched with a new gem, which completes the exhibition of works by Giovanni Casellato , a native of Maser (TV) and Susken Rosenthal , a German land artist selected from over 300 international artists as part of the Female Land Artists Wanted competition , organized by Bortolomiol in collaboration with Current Corporate.

<< The Filandetta Park will increasingly become a place where wine hosts art forms, from sculpture to music, from architecture to design >> Says Elvira Bortolomiol, vice president of the historic sparkling wine house that last year celebrated its 70th anniversary since the foundation.

Table , this is the name of the new work by Giovanni Casellato, was designed to pay homage to the vine. The material chosen is corten, widely used in viticulture for its resistance and versatility, and which naturally takes on shades reminiscent of a vine branch. The work thus blends the environment that hosts it, becoming one with the surrounding nature.

<< Table was born from the desire of the Bortolomiol family to complete the tasting and end the guided tour among the works of art in the park in a shared space. "The artist affirms" We have chosen the vine leaf as the predominant element, seen as a central pivot and preponderant mother element >>.

Around the table, cubes of the same material ideally embrace it and become an integral part of it. An invitation to conviviality, to sit down and taste a glass of Prosecco Superiore - or why not, to sit in solitude for a moment of personal meditation, among the splendid hills of Valdobbiadene.

The investment in art by the Bortolomiol family goes beyond the exhibition of works: in fact, just a step away from the Filandetta Park, the Artist's Residence was built, a residence made available to Italian and foreign artists who they inspire to nature and to the vine and then leave their own testimony.

A real cultural container , the Park hosts not only works of land art but also events such as concerts, tastings, book presentations and conferences. A unique place where different art forms meet and find an exceptional home, in the heart of the UNESCO heritage hills.

In the heart of Valdobbiadene, a few meters from the historic cellar of Bortolomiol, lies the Filandetta Park . Born from a restructuring of the smallest of the four Valdobbiadene spinning mills, by the architect Wally Tomé, winner of the Prometheus Prize for having successfully integrated a symbol of industrialization with an ancient process such as making wine. The Filandetta Park faithfully reflects the attention to sustainability and the enhancement of the territory, central themes in the company philosophy, and is increasingly becoming a real wine agora.
