"Caffè Dante Bistrot has always been a place of sharing and good food," say the owners of Caffè Dante Bistrot. "With this new event, we wanted to go a step further: transforming the aperitivo into a moment of true discovery, where wine isn't just something to drink but also a story to listen to. Our collaboration with Donne del Vino has allowed us to create a unique series of events: evenings that combine the pleasure of tasting with that of learning, with the true protagonists of this world—the producers—center stage."
Thursday, March 26: Three Venetian wines in the pages of an olfactory thriller
The first evening has as its common thread the scent of wine and mysterious literature.
Our guest is Monica Sommacampagna , a food and wine journalist, member of the Donne del Vino association, and author of the novel Morte di un naso (Death of a Nose, Golem Edizioni). The book tells the story of an inspector who receives a mysterious letter: the alleged sender is Mantua's finest nose, Davide Frua, a genius of olfactory creations who was found suddenly dead. The investigation unfolds between Borghetto sul Mincio, Mantua, and Verona in a journey of memories, resentments, and unexpected revelations. The author will open each tasting with an excerpt from the book, a scent, a color that intertwines with the wine the producers will serve to the public: sparkling, white, or red.
The three producers from the National Association of Women in Wine who will be the protagonists of the evening are:
Francesca Marcato brings the Valpolicella Superiore DOC “Determinazione” 2022 from Cantina Talestri , an elegant and structured expression of one of the most famous terroirs of Valpolicella, with its aromatic complexity and character deeply rooted in the Veronese territory.
Gabriella Vettoretti presents the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG Rive di Guia Extra Brut “Clorofilla” by Gabe Tenute Soc. Agricola , a refined and territorial sparkling wine produced on the UNESCO World Heritage hills of Prosecco, with a mineral and vertical personality.
Teresa Bacco talks about the Soave Superiore DOCG “Vigna il Casale” 2023 from the Vicentini Agostino Farm , a white wine with character that expresses the full vocation of the Soave area, with its freshness and depth.
They guide the public through the tasting, describing their wineries, their production choices, and their business direction.
Three voices, three glasses, and a single common thread: a great passion for wine as a language of identity and knowledge.
"This event perfectly embodies the spirit with which Le Donne del Vino work every day in the region," says Corinna Gianesini , Veneto Delegate of the National Association Le Donne del Vino. " Showcasing our female producers through their direct voices means placing the true architects of Veneto's winemaking excellence at the center: women who, with passion and expertise, run wineries that are an authentic expression of our region." The collaboration with Caffè Dante Bistrot allows us to do so in a historic and high-quality cultural context, reaching a new and passionate audience."
