  • 18/05/2026

On Thursday, May 21st, at the Caffè Dante Bistrot in Verona, aperitivo becomes a journey through two languages that can tell the world about Italy: wine and cinema. Emmy Award-winning director and screenwriter Francesca Pedrazza Gorlero will converse with three Veneto producers in an evening that intertwines winemaking excellence with the seventh art.

At Caffè Dante Bistrot , in Piazza dei Signori 2 in Verona, on Thursday, May 21st at 7:00 pm , the third event "Aperitifs with Women of Wine. Where Taste Meets Culture" returns, the series of cultural aperitifs organized in collaboration with the National Association of Women of Wine – Veneto Delegation.

Each meeting features three Venetian producers who discuss their labels, paired with three gourmet cicchetti created by Davide Fiorio , the venue's resident chef.

The evening of May 21st adds a new dimension: the dialogue between wine and cinema, two complementary art forms that have always spoken of Italian culture and beauty around the world. The conversation is led by journalist and Donna del Vino Mariangela Bonfanti .

This series of aperitifs was created to foster the tasting experience through the voices of the producers, who, through their stories, help us discover the true identity and personality of their wines. The Association's 2026 theme, "Women, Wine, Food," is the common thread running through our initiatives: it showcases food as taste and culture, a symbol of identity and belonging that, together with wine, enhances local areas and promotes wine tourism. - Daniela Ruzzenente , Donna del Vino and creator of the event

THE GUEST

Francesca Pedrazza Gorlero is a film producer, screenwriter, and director with over twenty-five years of experience in the Italian and international audiovisual sector. In 2023, she won the Daytime Emmy Award as executive producer of Italy Made with Love , a docuseries on Italian craftsmanship distributed on PBS, Prime Video US, and international platforms, and won the Silver Telly Award for Best Producer.

She is the creator and artistic director of the Cinema&Impresa Festival in Verona, dedicated to the dialogue between audiovisual, industry, and the local community. In 2025 he founded Metaxù SRL Società Benefit , the first Italian company to integrate scientific communication and impact evaluation into cultural production.

" Wine and cinema have something in common that can only be understood by being close to those who make them: both depend on choices that no marketing strategy can dictate. These women bring in their glasses the same thing we look for in a good film or a good documentary: proof that a territory exists, that someone has traveled there, lived there, and is responsible for it. The Made in Italy brand that also appeals abroad is not just an identity to be communicated, but a practical one to bear witness to." - Francesca Pedrazza Gorlero
