A project made of passion, care and sustainability through the adoption of vineyards in the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is " Adopt a row ", the initiative that the Josetta Saffirio winery has created to share the extraordinary nature of its territory through its wines. The Langhe, known for their exceptional beauty and centuries-old vineyards, represent not only a world-famous wine-growing landscape, but also an interconnected ecosystem of inestimable value. It is in this context that Sara Vezza passionately continues the work of her predecessors, committing herself to sustainable and environmentally friendly viticulture, making the most of the unique characteristics of the terroir which she now preserves together with Renzo Rosso and the Brave Wine holding of which he has been part of since 2023. " Being a farmer means living the great responsibility of the land that we have inherited and that we will leave to our children ", says Sara Vezza, words that express the profound connection between the values that inspire the Monforte d'Alba winery and the " Adopt a row " project . An initiative that allows Barolo enthusiasts to come into direct contact with the land and the traditions of this wine-growing area, offering a unique experience of direct cultivation and active participation in the life of the vineyard. “" Adopt a row " – explains Sara Vezza – was born with the aim of making people discover the life cycle of the vine and the production of Barolo DOCG, offering the possibility of closely following all the phases, from pruning to harvesting, up to winemaking. By adopting a row of Nebbiolo, adopters not only support biodiversity and environmental sustainability, but participate in the creation of a product that represents the perfect synthesis between the work of man and the generosity of nature .” The winery offers three different adoption projects, each characterized by a distinctive experience. The first allows you to have your own row registered or to give the registration as a gift and experience the emotion of seeing your own bunches of Barolo DOCG grow from the vineyard to the cellar, then receiving 6 bottles of Barolo DOCG with customizable labels as well as being able to participate in initiatives specials promoted by the winery. The second offers the opportunity to adopt a row in the prestigious Vigna Persiera, known for its exceptional terroir which gives longevity and marked personality to the wine. In this case, in addition to the reserved privileges, you will receive 4 bottles, of which two Magnums of the prized Barolo DOCG Persiera which can be personalized on the label. The third project, in the Vigna Millenovecento48, invites adopters to participate in the production of a Barolo Riserva DOCG, from a historic vineyard planted in 1948. In this case, there will be 3 bottles of Barolo Riserva DOCG Millenovecento48 customizable to collect after a night spent in a location immersed in the Langhe. Sara Vezza explains: " Each adopter not only comes into possession of a part of our wine heritage, but is immersed in an educational and engaging process. They will receive bottles of wine from their own row, personalized and with exclusive labels, constant updates and invitations to events special, thus creating a lasting bond with the land and our cellar; this year the highlight will be October 5-6 when the adopters' harvest will take place ." The " Adopt a row " proposal is not only a tribute to the oenological richness of the Langhe, but represents an original and significant way of approaching the world of wine. Adopting a row means entering a community that shares a passion for quality wine, while supporting responsible and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Here, therefore, the initiative represents much more than a simple "adoption", but becomes an immersive and enriching wine tourism experience that connects adopters with the land, the history and the art of making wine in the Langhe, making each participant protagonist of a winemaking tradition of global excellence. The adoption of a row has also become the prize that starting from 2022 Josetta Saffirio has awarded to women, communicators of the world of wine, who have distinguished themselves in their work. The television journalist Tessa Gelisio, the writer and influencer Laura Donadoni and the ambassador of Italian wine in the world Stevie Kim have been rewarded as adopters so far with their own row. Josetta Saffirio is a reality with over two centuries of winemaking tradition in Monforte d'Alba. Founded by Ernesto Saffirio, the legacy has passed to his daughter Josetta and today to his granddaughter Sara Vezza, an entrepreneur who has now led the company to Biodiversity Friend certification. The commitment to concrete sustainability and the reduction of environmental impact are the characteristics of this winery which, keeping its roots firm, looks courageously to the future.
