A wine and truffle season opens at the Braida Wine Resort

Not everyone knows that until September 30, in Piedmont, truffle harvesting is prohibited by law: it is the period of biological rest, a measure established to allow natural regeneration and promote the sustainability of the ecosystem. This pause period allows truffles to grow without interference, thus preserving the quality of future harvests and protecting natural resources.

But between the last night of September and the first of October, at the stroke of midnight, all truffle hunters start the new hunting season .

The Braida Wine Resort in Rocchetta Tanaro (Asti) dedicates an exclusive experience to the discovery of truffles , and white truffles in particular: in the coming weeks we will return to explore the woods and savour the authentic Piedmontese tradition.

The truffle hunting experience for guests of the Braida Wine Resort In the company of an expert truffle hunter and his faithful dog, the tabui, guests of the Braida Wine Resort will be able to venture into the beautiful woods of Rocchetta Tanaro: during this magical experience, the truffle hunter will reveal the secrets of the search for underground mushrooms, narrating myths and fascinating stories linked to these precious underground treasures, the White Truffle and the Black Truffle.

It will be surprising to witness the delicate teamwork between man and dog, while the tabui, with its infallible sense of smell, will dig into the ground to discover inebriating scents.

An emotional journey that goes beyond the simple search for truffles: it is an immersion in the deep roots of Piedmontese culture, an opportunity to rediscover the symbiosis between man and nature.

At the end of the walk, guests can taste a typical snack accompanied by a glass of Braida wine, fully immersing themselves in the flavors of the area.

Since 2021 , 'Truffle hunting and extraction in Italy: traditional knowledge and practices' has been officially inscribed on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
