Two days of great success for the second edition of La Prima vera del Castellinaldo , an event created by the Associazione Vinaioli del Castellinaldo to celebrate the flagship of Barbera d'Alba , the Castellinaldo sub-zone , with tastings, masterclasses, meetings with producers and gastronomic discoveries.
If Sunday 30 March was dedicated to wine lovers and enthusiasts, Monday 31 was reserved for Horeca professionals and the press.
600 accredited guests , more than 40 wines on tap and 21 producers involved ( Allerino Giovanni, Baudevin di Volantino Marco Farm, Cerrato Fabio Farm, Cravanzola SSA Farm, Ferrero Michele Farm, Fratelli Masucco Farm, Margherita SS Farm, Teo Costa Selection Farm, Vecchio Farm, Vielmin Farm, Bric Cenciurio, Cantina del Nebbiolo SCA, Cascina Chicco SSA, Cascina del Pozzo, Cascina Goregn, Cascina Torniero, La Granera, Marchisio Family Organic Estate, Marchisio Tonino, Marsaglia, Morra Stefanino ), three masterclasses of 60 people each , all sold out, more than 180 people led by Giancarlo Montaldo , technical-scientific consultant of the event and journalist who has followed the birth of the sub-zone since the beginning, to discover the Castellinaldo Barbera d'Alba Doc.
In the final dinner, prepared by chef Davide Odore of the Io e Luna restaurant, the gastronomic characteristics of Castellinaldo Barbera d'Alba Doc were highlighted, presenting the wines not only in combination with the various dishes but also as a precious ingredient in the kitchen: from the first course (tortelli filled with guinea fowl in fricassee sauce, salmi with Castellinaldo Barbera d'Alba Doc) to the dessert (tiramisu with Castellinaldo Barbera d'Alba Doc), passing through the second course (cotechino Wellington, Castellinaldo Barbera d'Alba Doc sauce with mashed potatoes).
“Our event is growing, which is why there is a lot of satisfaction among the producers. Guarene and Palazzo Re Rebaudengo have represented the perfect setting to host the second edition of Primavera del Castellinaldo: with this initiative we want to increasingly affirm our identity and fully enhance what is a “niche” in the winemaking panorama of Langhe and Roero” commented the president of the Vinaioli del Castellinaldo association, Luca Morra , who added: “Thanks go to all those who made this event possible: the Municipality of Guarene, the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Foundation, the Consortium for the Protection of Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani, the Atl Langhe Monferrato Roero, the Cuneo-Alba delegation of Ais Piemonte”.
