Since 1923 one hundred years of history, work and commitment, dozens of suppliers, thousands of bottles and one great passion: wine. Cantina Settecani celebrates its first centenary with a big party: “100 in Cantina”, Sunday 18 June starting at 11.00 . The appointment for everyone will be at the historic headquarters of the Cooperative in Settecani - in the province of Modena, in the hamlet of the same name on the border between the towns of Castelvetro, Castelnuovo Rangone and Spilamberto - for a day with free admission in the name of good wine, music, fun and entertainment, even for the little ones.
“This anniversary has deep roots in the history of this area of Emilia Romagna - comments Paolo Martinelli , President of Cantina Settecani - because it was born out of the passion and sense of belonging to this place of women and men who, still today, on the and quality bet their future. This strong bond has given life to a production project which, by innovating in step with the times, has allowed us to create together with our partners a business model that identifies us as a large family steadfast in difficulties and united in successes. We look to the future with the commitment of our origins and work together to grow, offering increasingly demanding consumers accessible wines with high quality standards. All this - concludes the President - without forgetting our commitment to environmental sustainability confirmed by the VIVA and Minerva certifications which attest to our attention to the environment and the local area".
Cantina Settecani is today a more solid reality than ever, which stands out for its ability to respond to the needs of the market with traditional wines reinterpreted in a modern key. In the 400 hectares of vineyards, which are located in the hills and foothills within the DOC Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro, the members of the winery mainly cultivate this precious variety and the Pignoletto, from which over one million bottles are produced each year and marketed in various distribution channels.
To worthily celebrate a century of activity - which has led Settecani to be ambassador of Italian wine production of excellence in countries such as Japan, China, USA, Germany, Norway, France, Spain and Switzerland - a whole day full of events is scheduled .
The program of "100 in the Cellar"
The great Cantina Settecani party will open at 11 with the Masterclass, free but with reservations required, "Grasparossa and Pignoletto, our historic varieties paired with typical Emilian products" . The food trucks will open from 12.00, which for the occasion will offer traditional food, such as borlenghi, tigelle and gnocco fritto, but also grilled meats, vegetarian dishes and, for those with a sweet tooth, homemade ice cream. Guided tours of the Cellar are scheduled at 2.30 and 3.30 pm, while the second Masterclass is scheduled at 4.30 pm, entitled "Five shades of Grasparossa" , always by reservation.
From 18.30, in the garden in front of the historic headquarters of Cantina Settecani, you can toast with aperitifs based on Pignoletto and Grasparossa. The day will end with the Dj Set by Mirko Donnini, scheduled from 7.00 pm until 11.00 pm, when the curtain will fall on “100 in Cantina”.
Throughout the day it will be possible to taste the Settecani wines (through a booklet of €5 for 2 tastings or €10 for 5 tastings with the free event glass) and to attend traveling shows with jugglers and stilt walkers, fire artists and theater workshops. There are also games and activities for the little ones.
Finally, at the point of sale, you can buy Cantina Settecani wines at a discounted price. Wines that, over the years, have obtained numerous awards, among others that of Best Sparkling Wine according to the 5StarWines Guide of Vinitaly 2019 for Lambrusco Grasparossa Vini del Re which was confirmed as the best sparkling red and best Lambrusco triumphing at The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championship 2021.
