Italian White Wine Alcamo bianco

Organoleptic characteristics: This wine has a straw yellow color, more or less intense, sometimes with greenish reflections. It has has a winey, intense, fruity, harmonious aroma, and the taste is dry, fresh and balanced. Historical-cultural infos and curiosities: The viticulture in the area of ​​Alcamo began at the time of the Greek colonists. With the Phoenicians and the Romans, the cultivation of the vine and wine production became so important as to be the main economic activities. The advent of the Saracens temporarily stopped production, which resumed floridly around 1200. Serving suggestions: Dishes based on fish, vegetables, and dishes of Sicilian cuisine. Production area: The whole territory of the town of Alcamo and some provinces of Palermo and Trapani. Vines that are allowed to produce it: Catarratto (minimum 60%); Ansonica or Inzolia, Grillo, Grecanico, Chardonnay, Müller Thurgau and Sauvignon, alone or in combination (maximum 40%). To produce this wine grapes from the white grape varieties recommended and/or authorized by the provinces of Trapani and Palermo, up to a maximum of 20%, can contribute.
