Organoleptic characteristics: Depending on the types we have different features. The Dry version has a pale straw yellow color, a delicate and characteristic aroma and dry, harmonious and slightly tannic taste. The Sweetish version is straw yellow tending to golden, with a characteristic aroma and fruity, sweetish and pleasant taste. The Albana di Romagna Sweet is straw yellow tending to gold, has the characteristic smell of the Albana wine and has fruity, sweet, pleasant and characteristic taste. Raisin has golden yellow color with tendency to amber, intense and characteristic flavour and velvety, pleasantly sweetish or sweet taste. Raisin Reserve has a color which ranges from pale yellow to bright golden yellow with amber glares, an intense aroma with clear fruity notes and of noble mould, a full, intensely sweet and pleasantly acidic taste.   Historical-cultural information and curiosities: From a vine known since Roman times, this was the first DOCG recognized in the region. A legend tells that to the daughter of Theodore, after a long walk, was offered this wine in an old jug. She was amazed by the excellent taste of this wine and said, "Not so humbly you should be drunk, but you have to be drunk in gold, to pay homage to your sweetness!" And from that moment, at the court of Ravenna, Albana di Romagna was drunk in precious golden goblets. Serving suggestions: The Albana di Romagna Dry is generally matched with all kinds of fish and is excellent also with white and lean meats. Raisin, Sweetish and Sweet are very well served with fruit and desserts. Production area: It is a unique name in the province of Bologna, but according to the regulations it can be produced in several municipalities in the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì and Cesena. Grape varieties allowed for its production: Albana di Romagna, at least 95%.
