Wine produced from an ancient Bordeaux grape variety, Carmenere, arrived in the north east of Italy from France in the nineteenth century. Vines are grown in an area of our company called Zoppinedi for the peculiarities of the soil with black lumps (called “Zoppe nere” in local jargon).
Sensory/emotional features: special for its intense red color and for its vinous aroma. Its dry and harmonious flavor evokes small dark berries with elegant hints of herbs.
Serving suggestions: it goes well with starters of salami, first courses with meat sauces, game, grilled and roasted meats. Excellent with medium–aged cheese.
Serving temperature: 16–18C.
