LIGT Tuscany Saffredi was born in 1987 but the vineyard, near Magliano, was planted seven years earlier by the mentor of Elizabeth, Fredi which, in fact dedicated this Cru.
Saffredi, shows in the glasses in 1990 and soon became the myth that even today, among the most important in red Italian wine scene. Impenetrable colour, smell very concentrated blueberry, blackberry, and sweet spices still in training. Full-bodied with velvety tannins and a very strong return of jam, liquorice and balsamic notes. Period of Harvest: mid September for the Merlot, followed lAlicante, ending with the Cabernet Sauvignon late October in the wine - cellar: fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless tanks (max 32 C). The malolactic fermentation follows the alcoholic. The wine is then 18 months in oak barrels, 75% new and 25% second passage. It is bottled after a light fining, 24 months after the harvest, and placed the third autumn after the harvest
