Aglianico del Vulture Superiore

Organoleptic characteristics:
The color is a more or less intense ruby red tending to garnet, while the smell is typical, pleasant and intense. In the mouth it is dry, rightly tannic, fruity and persistent. When stored in wooden barrels it can acquire woody scents.

Historical-cultural information and curiosities:
According to the testimonies that has come down to us, the vine Agliatico was introduced by the Greeks in southern Italy, and the Romans continued its cultivation that we know today. Ancient legends say that exactly the Aglianico del Vulture wine was offered to Polyphemus by Odysseus.

Serving suggestions:
It goes well with dry main courses and seasoned cheese. Excellent also with tasty meats or typical salami of Lucania.

Production area:
The entire territory of the municipalities of Rionero in Vulture, Barile, Rampolla, Ripacandida, Ginestra, Maschito, Forenza, Acerenza, Melfi, Atella, Venosa, Lavello, Palazzo San Gervasio, Banzi and Genzano di Lucania (except for some areas), all in province of Potenza.

Aglianico N. and/or Aglianico del Vulture 100%.
