Sémillon

It is a white grape variety vinified usually with Sauvignon Blanc. Sémillon performs many aromas and flavours reminiscent of that of mature Chardonnay: lemon, grapefruit, apple, peach, pear are only some of the fruits that it reminds. Having thin grapes skin and very dense clusters, Sémillon is highly susceptible to Botrytis cinerea, which attacks its skins, concentrating the sugars of the fruit and giving them a particular body and an incredible complexity.

Dessert wines based on Sémillon are among the nicest in the world.
