Right Bank

This term is widely used in the wine world to indicate all the names of Bordeaux situated in the northern part of the Dordogne River. The two most important designations of the Right Bank are St. Emilion and Pomerol and the entire Right Bank is dominated by the Merlot grape. These two exceptional appellations produce the greatest expressions of Merlot in the world (just ask someone if he/she has ever had a Pétrus 1988).
