Grignolino

Formerly called also Barbesino, is a Piedmontese grape grown mainly in the Asti area. From Grignolino a wine suitable to accompany vegetable pies, duck, white meat, fried food is made; the pairing with dishes based on fish is all to be tried.
It is vinified almost totally in single–variety, getting clear and delicate wines. Despite being a popular grape variety in Piedmont, today is no longer widely grown because of its alternating production.
