Gran Reserva

Spanish wines of high quality and excellent vintages are titled as Gran Reserva. These wines must, by law, spend a longer time in the winery to mature. For example, red wines labeled "Gran Reserva" mature a minimum of two years in barrels and three years in the bottle or a container before being put on the market. The "Gran Reserva" white wines must be aged in the cellar for four years, including eight months of aging in barrel.
