Dolcetto

It is among the most typical and grown Piedmontese native vines. It has been present since 1300 in the Langhe.
The name of the grape variety comes from the particular sweetness of grape pulp, although the wines made from it are extremely dry, with moderate acidity and present a bitter aftertaste. The wine has a characteristic ruby red colour and has an intense aroma, easily comparable to that of liquorice, almonds, blackberries and cherries. It is a wine to be consumed within the first year after the harvest or after a short aging.
