2020 harvest notes by the Masi Technical Group

Overall, the grapes are perfectly healthy and with an ideal ripeness in all areas. This was stated by the Masi Technical Group , the pool of experts that contributes to the production of the great award-winning wines of the Veronese maison .

Entering into the merit of the mapping of the harvest in the Masi vineyards, in Valpolicella Classica the grape yield is within the average of the last 10 years with particularly high quality in the high hills. The sorting for the set aside for both the Campofiorin and the Amarone Costasera in the foothills began on 10 September, the grape harvest will continue in late September for the hilly part. Both in the Serego Alighieri vineyards and in the prestigious Campolongo di Torbe and Mazzano crus .

In Bardolino Classico the harvest began on 13 September with good quantitative and qualitative expectations. The same in the Colbaraca vineyard in Soave.

In Trentino , in the Conti Bossi Fedrigotti estates, the harvest began at the end of August with Pinot Nero and Chardonnay for the Conte Federico sparkling base; followed by Pinot Grigio from Pian del Griso . The harvest of Merlot and Cabernet for Fojaneghe is expected for the last ten days of September. High quality, strictly manual harvest for high lineage wines.

Moving east, to Canevel in Valdobbiadene, the harvest began on August 27 with the Chardonnay grapes for the DOCG Brut Valdobbiadene: a healthy grape with excellent acidity. From 4 September the Glera harvest continued and the harvest is now in full swing. Even in these hills the forecasts are excellent.

In Friuli, once the Pinot Grigio harvest is finished, we continue with Merlot and Refosco. Good harvest in quantity and quality.

And finally in Tuscany , at the Poderi Bell'Ovile Serego Alighieri , we start with Merlot. Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo will be harvested before the end of September, while the end of the month is expected for Vermentino.

The harvest in the Masi vineyards has begun under the best auspices, with the prospect of a good year in all the areas in which its viticultural activity develops, in Valpolicella Classica and in the other classic areas of Verona, Trentino, up to Valdobbiadene, Friuli and Tuscany.
