FROM TRADITIONAL COMBINATIONS TO THE MOST UNUSUAL, AND MANY TASTINGS FOR A WEEKEND DEDICATED TO WINE AND GASTRONOMIC PRODUCTIONS OF OLTREPO 'PAVESE IN THE EVENT OF WINE TOURISM IN LOMBARDY.

Spring events are back in the name of good drinking. Torrevilla, the Association of winemakers that brings together over 200 winemakers in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese , brings some of its most appreciated wines to " Iria Vinum - Oltrepò in all its nuances" , the event organized by the Movimento Turismo del Vino della Lombardia, the non-profit association that promotes wine tourism at the regional level, scheduled at the Castello di Voghera from 14 to 16 May .

Three days to immerse yourself in the flavors and aromas of Oltrepò Pavese in the exceptional setting of the ancient Visconteo Castle, within whose walls it will be possible to taste not only wine, but also a varied selection of gastronomic delicacies of the territory, as well as let yourself be accompanied in food-wine pairings in the “Officine dei Sapori” tasting events scheduled throughout the weekend.

A poker of labels capable of satisfying all palates awaits visitors at the two stands in Torrevilla:

  • Pinot Nero Riserva 110 Nature Docg , the Classic Method sparkling wine with a straw yellow color with golden reflections, a fine and persistent perlage and a very intense aroma, with pleasant citrus notes and hints of dried fruit and small pastries;
  • Pinot Nero Riserva 110 Oltrepò Pavese Dop , still red with a typical ruby color with violet reflections, offers elegant notes of small red fruits and hints of spices to the nose, while on the palate it is pleasantly fresh, soft, enveloping in its sweet tannins, with a persistent and clean finish;
  • Cortese Oltrepò Pavese Dop , the pure Cortese with a fresh and pleasant character, conquers for its full and soft taste and its aromatic aftertaste reminiscent of yellow peach and apricot, which make it a versatile wine, suitable for infinite combinations;
  • Bonarda Frizzante Oltrepò Pavese Dop , ruby red with garnet reflections, vinous notes on the nose with aromas of ripe fruit, persistent, full-bodied on the palate, with a soft and pleasantly lively finish, it is excellent on sausages and cured meats (such as the local Varzi salami) and meat dishes, it is exceptional with any type of cheese.

Not only that: among the appointments of the calendar of tasting events, Torrevilla invites all wine lovers to "Bollicine d'Oltrepò and oysters" , scheduled for Saturday 15 May at 11.00 : an exceptional meeting between Oltrepò sparkling wines and the best known French product at world. For the occasion, Torrevilla has selected its Metodo Classico Riserva 110 Nature , perfect as an aperitif and throughout the meal, especially with complex fish-based dishes, which will be offered in combination with the Fine De Claire oyster - which has been awarded the famous Label Rouge label that indicates perfection in gastronomic-cultural terms -, with its typical taste that leaves in the mouth a balanced salty flavor and a short-lasting aftertaste with hints of hazelnut.

TORREVILLA has been the association of winegrowers that has been a point of reference for viticulture beyond the Po for 114 years. It brings together 200 winemakers who every day, with effort and dedication, dedicate themselves to the cultivation of vines on over 600 hectares of land spread over nine Lombard municipalities.
