AT CIBUS - THE INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR (31 AUGUST - 3 SEPTEMBER) - INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS DRIVE THE GROWTH AND EXPORT OF THE AGRI-FOOD SECTOR

Many innovative products, but also the reinterpretations of the basic products that food companies will present during the Cibus event, in Parma from 31 August to 3 September: some brand new, launched in 2021, others placed on the market in 2020, without however being able to be presented at the fair, due to the pandemic that forced the events in attendance to postpone by one year. In addition to the wide range of DOP and IGP products, the new products seem to follow three trends: the healthy one with organic, vegetarian and vegan products; that of the historical tradition of Italian production and gastronomy; the flexitarian one, sensitive to the issues of healthy eating, but which does not give up meat, fish, cheeses and so on.

Here are some examples of the new products, referring to the publication of the complete list on the website and on the Cibus APP, starting from August 26th.

In the meat sector: the duck burger (Lodi Export) and a ham similar to Spanish Iberian (Dok Dall'Ava). Also on display are the vegetable protein burgers proposed by Rolli, CGM and others. In the cheese sector: zero-fat, lactose-free cheese, rich in fiber and protein, low in calories (Carpenedo); spreadable cheese with 15% Parmigiano Reggiano (Parmareggio); oat yogurt (Valsoia).
In the sauces sector: pepper pesto with ricotta and Sicilian pecorino dop (Campo d'Oro); vegan pesto that uses vegetable cheese made from rice sprouts (Ligurian coast). Among the condiments: black rice vinegar (Varvello) and vinegar derived from quality craft beer (Terra del Tuono).
In the desserts sector: The vegan protein dessert based on vegetable proteins (White and Seeds); a lollipop flavored drink for children, Chupa Chups (Candy Mania); the kit with everything you need to prepare Tiramisu (Biscottificio Verona). Among the baked goods: bread for children, sugar-free, long-life (Arte Bianca) and shortbread biscuits made with legume flour (Barilla).
Among the ready meals: low temperature cooked fruit and vegetables (Cappellini) and tortelli with nettles (Buona Compagnia Gourmet). Among the frozen foods: the vegan cauliflower pizza base (Galati) and the tuna and red onion pizza (ItalPizza). In the between meals and snacks sector: corn kernels with truffles (Tartuflanghe); corn flour rings (Amica Chips).
And again: the drinking straw that can be eaten, made of pasta, gluten free (Rustichella d'Abruzzo); sweet and sour pumpkin cream (Barbuscia); raspberry and elderberry flavored ice (Ice cube); Sicilian anchovies (Delicius Rizzoli); prickly pear pulp juice (La Deliziosa); the compostable coffee pod with the new recyclable wrapping for paper collection (Caffè Borbone); superfood spaghetti with matcha and ginseng flavors, spirulina extract, dragon fruit, vegetable charcoal, turmeric and ginger (Rustichella d'Abruzzo), single-portion pasta to be filled (The Gragnano Pasta factory); L'Oliva, table olives from a selection of the Italian cultivars Sant'Agostino, Peranzana, Bella di Cerignola (Monini).

Meetings, events and tastings to discover the products of the local supply chains will also be held in the off-hall of the fair, "Cibus Off" (www.cibus.it/cibus-off/), which will be held in the center of Parma from 29 August to September 5, as part of the schedule of events that will animate the Gastronomic September of the city. The in-depth analysis of “Cibus Lab” in collaboration with Gdonews and IRI will return to the fair. Andrea Meneghini, editorial director of Gdonews will interview the retail professionals present at Cibus. The interviews will be broadcast live on the social channels of the event.

New this year is the Rai media partnership, the Public Service will be present at Cibus with a dedicated space within the Fair, where radio and TV programs will produce reports and interviews.
