Four evenings in the squares of Verona dedicated to the general public. We are waiting for you from 20th to 23rd March 2015, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., to taste great wines and food specialities in a charming setting. To get around in the city, the city bus service is available also in the evening and is developed at the weekend.
Vinitaly wears its evening dress, goes out the gates of the Exhibition and arrives in the heart of the old town of Verona to speak the language of young people and lovers of good wine and good food. It is Vinitaly and the City, from 20th to 23rd March, the event organized for the general public in the charming medieval setting of the historic heart of Verona.
From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Piazza dei Signori, Cortile del Mercato Vecchio and Cortile del Tribunale, originally vibrant centers of the political and administrative life of the town at the time of the Scala family, will come to life with a varied selection of over 300 labels of wines coming from the most suited to winemaking Italian regions: Apulia, Sicily, Marche, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Lombardy, Veneto, Calabria and, again, the wines of Irpinia will express the richness of our territories, of the vines, of the Designation of Protected Origin that have made us famous in the world. Sips of nature to be enjoyed in the elegant Zafferano glasses.
There will be also space for the youngsters in Vinitaly and the City Music Lounge, where the refined perlage of the Durello Sparkling Wines will accompany the notes of Radio Number One. Ambient music and live interviews with the protagonists of the event and the most curious and intriguing characters that will go round the squares.
The international feature is proven by the presence of the Spanish Tourism Institure and by Andalusia, which will offer the magic and the folklore of their territory with a path of flavours and wines offered in a spectacular way by the "Venenciador", a characteristic figure of the local tradition.
Scents and aromas of the wines can be combined to delicious typicalities in an all round multi–sensory experience. From fillets of tuna and anchovies, from balsamic vinegars aged over 40 years, cheese aged in wine, up to the unmissable Culatello of the Spigaroli brothers with different seasonings of Parmigiano–Reggiano, all tastes will be satisfied.
With the Tasting Ticket, at a cost of 10 euro, you will receive the fine glass and 3 tasting coupons, one for each square. And for those who are a little bit curious, there is a the Bis Ticket with 4 free tastings in the circuit of Vinitaly and the City. With the Tasting Ticket you can purchase them directly from the producers.
To facilitate the movement of thousands of wine lovers expected at the weekend, the city bus service of Atv–Azienda Trasporti Verona, which in the evenings of Friday and Saturday lengthens the night operations covering also the time slot from midnight to 2 a.m. of the lines 90, 91, 94 and 98, which connect the center to the districts of the city.
During Vinitaly, there are also discounts on the bus ticket connecting the city to the province, thanks to the special "tourist pass" of Atv (more information on www.atv.verona.it).
