"The Garda DOC Consortium is honored to have been a partner and sponsor of an event that represents one of the highest expressions of culture in Italy, through a collaboration that has been ongoing since 2017," says Paolo Fiorini , President of the Consortium . "The connection between wine and literature has ancient roots: both are tools for storytelling, sharing, and emotion. Bringing our wine to this context means enhancing not only the denomination, but also the entire Garda region, which, with its landscapes, history, and vocation for hospitality, represents one of the most appreciated and recognized destinations internationally. Being present at the Festivaletteratura therefore means affirming Garda's ability to unite culture, food and wine, and tourism, offering authentic experiences that speak to the hearts of visitors."
From September 3rd to 7th, the denominations protected by the Consortium were present at institutional events, in hospitality spaces, and in some events dedicated to guests and authors, becoming an integral part of the conviviality that has always distinguished the event. Festivaletteratura, which will celebrate its thirtieth anniversary in 2026, has become a benchmark of the national cultural scene, with over 300 guest authors and five days of meetings, debates, lectures, and social events that enlivened the city and attracted a diverse audience, from young people to longtime enthusiasts.
The presence of the Garda DOC Consortium at the Mantua Festivaletteratura consolidates the relationship between the Denomination and the world of culture, combining quality wine with an international stage and strengthening Garda's image as a destination capable of combining tradition, taste, and cultural innovation.
THE GARDA DOC CONSORTIUM
A hilly region with unique landscapes, nestled between Lombardy and Veneto, protected by mountains and overlooking Italy's largest basin: here, between the provinces of Brescia, Mantua, and Verona, lies the Garda DOC, a wine-producing area where unique climatic conditions have shaped the qualities of the various grape varieties grown there over time and continue to define their distinctive characteristics. First recognized in 1996 with the aim of promoting the varietal wines produced in the 10 historic production zones of the Garda area, the Garda DOC is a designation driven by a strong spirit of innovation, capable of evolving over the years based on consumer needs, while respecting a product with ancient origins. Having obtained ministerial recognition in 2015 and operating erga omnes since 2016, the Garda DOC Consortium today represents 250 users of the designation, giving voice to and promoting one of Italy's most prized food and wine excellences.
