The award, established in 1951, honors Italian and foreign citizens who have distinguished themselves "toward the nation" in the fields of art, culture, economics, public service, social work, and the military. This is a personal achievement, but also an important testament to how wine is an integral part of Italy's identity. To date, fewer than five women in the wine industry have received the title.
"This title honors me and is a tribute to all those who work with integrity, preparation, and humility," says Graziana Grassini. " Technical expertise, listening, and interpretation are the three elements that distinguish a professional, and in my work, I've always believed in the values of moderation, consistency, and sensitivity. I've always believed it was important to convey emotion in the glass, while respecting the local identity."
Graziana Grassini defines herself as an "emotional scientist," because every glass of wine must be able to move those who drink it.
Thanks to technical rigor, territorial sensitivity, and profound respect for the company's identity, Graziana enhances the expression of the vineyard and the producer's vision, avoiding any stylistic impositions attributable to the winemaker's signature. In an era where standardization threatens, this method reaffirms the primacy of terroir as a qualitative matrix, with wines that express precision, balance, and consistency without sacrificing authenticity.
