In Soave Versus the first Master dedicated to Soave managed by AIS Veneto will take place.
Soave Master, a themed contest in which young sommeliers can try themselves and become ambassadors of the designation all around Italy.
This will be the first theme master of AIS Veneto whose 2015 edition will be held on the occasion of Soave Versus, an event organized by the Consortium for Protection. A perfect setting, all dedicated to the white wine symbol of the Verona area, with the historic Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona as a background. For three days the public and the industry operators will have the opportunity to taste, discover and know over 200 interpretations of this "vulcanic wine".
In this unique context, the Master will crown the first Ambassador of Soave.
The 30 contenders will participate, on Sunday, September 6th, in a full–immersion training; in the morning of Monday, September 7th, they will have to face written tests and, in the afternoon, there will be the exciting final open to the public.
"Each of the participants – Marco Aldegheri, AIS Veneto Chairman, says – will have to prove to the jury his/her preparation on this native vine born in volcanic soil, analyzing its importance in terms of production, quality and historicity. To assess them, they will be tried with a series of very demanding tests: tasting and reception, service and combination, analysis of a wine list and a communication test. Fundamental, for the title of Soave Master, will be effectively the ability to recount the typicality of this wine and its territory".
The competition will take place under the direction of the AIS National Contests School, as explained by the manager of the contests, Cristiano Cini: "This first Master in Veneto is certainly an important opportunity, both for the participants and to give visibility to a territory with unique characteristics. The competition, in effect, is the moment when, through the sommeliers who will come here from all over Italy, not only the Soave but all the Veneto of wine will be told, enhancing its authenticity, quality and culture. The hope is that this event will become a meeting of prime importance among the many AIS Masters already active in Italy, not forgetting that the Masters have often have awarded sommeliers who then won the national title".
On Monday, September 7th, the Soave Master 2015 will be officially proclaimed, who, for a year, will have the privilege to represent this great wine.
