2016 is a year all to be celebrated

On 24 September 1716 there was the emendation of the Grand Duke Cosimo III that marked the boundaries of the production of Chianti Classico. On 1 January the year marking 300 years since someone, 300 years ago, bothered to formalize the success of a special union between man, nature and product.

The consortium of Chianti Classico has been working for some time to a program of events that will pay tribute to such an important anniversary.
It is coming soon the beginning of 2016, which marks the three hundredth anniversary of Chianti Classico. The Consortium has been working for several months to celebrate with a series of important initiatives this historic milestone.
They started firstly from a visual identification able to synthesize the 300 years of the Gallo Nero (Black Rooster) in a clean, straightforward, yet impactful imagine, playing with the two dates that mark the starting point and the momentary point of arrival of Chianti Classico.

There will be a special label on the bottles of Chianti Classico protagonists of our events and contexts managed by the Consortium or the Chianti Classico Company, such as the Central Market Wine Store and the Chianti Classico House in Radda in Chianti. Right in the House of Radda the tour will end with a special show/story about the 300 years: a passionate and exciting story, easy to understand, also thanks to technology, that will explain the context in which the notice comes. The exhibition will be housed permanently on the top floor of the House.
300 years of history on display
To make live this great Tuscan history also to new generations local schools will be involved in an intergenerational project that will develop around the legend of the Black Rooster, while the excellence of wine will join that of fashion in events that will develop in collaboration with the most important fashion brands in September. On 24 September, the date of signature of the contract, Chianti Classico will celebrate in two places in the city of Florence, symbol of art and culture of yesterday and today: the Salone de’ 500 hall of Palazzo Vecchio, where in the shade of the Gallo Nero (Black Rooster) of Vasari will tell to an audience of press and national and international authorities about our history, and the new Opera Theatre that will greet the 300 with a concert dedicated to Chianti Classico.
