To motivate the awarding of the award "the possibility for the eno-passionate visitor to live the experience of sustainability that the Veronese company has promoted in its work". In fact, the good practices introduced are explained to the tourist in depth, with the possibility of touching the tools used in the vineyard and in the cellar.
The path of sustainability for Le Morette begins with the inauguration, in 2013, of the current totally underground cellar , where the winemaking areas located on the underground floors exploit the natural thermal insulation of the soil for maximum energy savings.
The sustainable choices are expressed in the cellar in the expansion of the photovoltaic system, which in a short time will bring back energy independence, given the company's growth in recent years. In the vineyard Le Morette adopts the practice of integrated pest management , which avoids the use of insecticides; the company uses a multi-row sprayer that allows to reduce the number of treatments by two thirds, consequently reducing soil compaction, fuel consumption and emissions and the intervention time. The presence of several hives near some vineyards confirms the company's great sensitivity towards nature.
In 2020 Le Morette also obtained the “Biodiversity Friend” certification for a sustainable agriculture model, with low environmental impact and integrated into the landscape.
“I really love the Amerindian proverb that says 'the Earth is not an inheritance received from our fathers, but a loan to be repaid to our children'. With this in mind - says Fabio Zenato , co-owner of Le Morette together with his brother Paolo - we choose precise working methods aimed at sustainable agriculture, favoring those natural processes that allow the conservation of the 'environmental resource', with great attention to its use. of water. Our company philosophy - concludes Zenato - is based on the solid link with the territory and on the attention to sustainability that you breathe when entering our cellar: a completely new structure, built with the utmost respect for nature and surrounded by vineyards. It is a project that focuses above all on agricultural and functional aspects as well as on environmental awareness, using clean energy from renewable resources ".
