Thursday 9 March, starting at 17.00 at the Auditorium della Gran Guardia in Verona, a talk show on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of OENOFRANCE®, to understand how much current changes, both climatic and socio-economic, are impacting on the wine sector and what might be the most appropriate answers.

In 1943, from the will and intuition of two men, messieurs Dardant and Tournel, what over time would become an absolute protagonist in supporting the development of oenology all over the world was born: OENOFRANCE®, a company of the SOFRALAB® Group, leader in the sector of oenological products and analyzes worldwide.
To celebrate its 80th anniversary OENOFRANCE® has chosen Verona, a world capital of wine. Over 300 professionals of the wine sector from all over the world, customers and partners of OENOFRANCE®, will arrive in the Verona city on 9 March, not only to celebrate the important anniversary but also to better understand and explore together the current and future challenges of the wine sector.
It is now undeniable how much climatic changes but also the current socio-economic "revolutions", in fact, are also profoundly transforming winemaking all over the world.

What are the main developments, the most imminent needs and the most appropriate responses?
These are the questions that will be answered in the unprecedented talk show entitled: "Enology in a changing planet: 1943-2023 what's next?", organized precisely on the occasion of the event for the 80th anniversary of OENOFRANCE® and which will see the presence of authoritative speakers starting with Gabriele Gorelli, the first Italian Master of Wine; Andrea Lonardi, Chief Operating Officer of Angelini Wine Estates, Simone Agostinelli, Barilla EU Durum Wheat Purchasing Manager & Group Sustainable Farming Project Manager, Francesco Saverio Russo, Wine Blogger (wineblogroll.com), Wine Disseminator from the vine to the glass, Daniele Pizzinato, Head of Research and Development of OENOFRANCE® Italy.
The talk show will also see the participation of three young students from the Milan Polytechnic, Jacopo Cometti, Edoardo de Cal and Giulia Sironi who have allied themselves to give a response to the dramatic water crisis that is involving the entire agricultural sector, through a digital platform called WOP (Water Optimization Protocol), awarded in the competition organized by the National Youth Agency in collaboration with Ashoka Italia.
"The choice of the speakers and the three young researchers - explains Arnaud Soulier, Marketing Director, General Operational Coordinator Oenology Division SOFRALAB® - is perfectly consistent with the philosophy of OENOFRANCE® which has been committed to what we define for many years
'reasoned agro-enology', that is able to have a multidisciplinary vision of all the factors that determine the production and qualification of wines".

"Our OENOTERRIS® project fits in this direction - adds Ramon Bel, Director SOFRALAB® -. Today's viticulture and winemaking techniques, subject to the direct impact of climate change, such as the increase in temperatures and the frequency of extreme climatic events, early vine development and early harvest dates, or acid-alcohol imbalance in wines, must evolve in this context to better meet consumer needs.
Reasoned agroenology seeks to provide a better analysis and understanding of the issues to promote diversity and implement the "right" choices with respect to the technological process from the vine to the bottling, while preserving the quality of the wines".
The issues, which will be addressed in the talk show on 9 March - in the Auditorium of the suggestive Palazzo della Gran Guardia, starting at 17.00 - arise precisely from the awareness gained up to now, i.e. the ability to understand how fundamental it is now to develop strategies viticulture (and agricultural in general) through a multidisciplinary approach, which combines viticultural-agronomic and also oenological-commercial skills at the same time.
The challenges, dictated by the various climatic changes of recent years, increasingly enhance the importance of an oenological approach that is strongly integrated with the "agronomic" identity of the terroirs.
It is a question of giving the wines an "agricultural" matrix capable of guaranteeing a greater balance between the "vineyard" and the "cellar".

An indispensable bond also on the side of the market that is increasingly looking for wines with a high identity value and authenticity.
A process, the latter, where research and innovation will have ever greater weight and, also in this direction, a more constant dialogue between the various agricultural sectors becomes indispensable.
Below are the speakers and the topics that will be addressed in the talk show which will be moderated by Fabio Piccoli, director in charge of Wine Meridian:
Gabriele Gorelli, Master of Wine - "Current wine trends: from greater freshness to low alcohol. How is the perception of wines evolving?".
