The history of Turin is inextricably linked to that of the birth of the aperitif, a true ritual that dates back to 1786 when Antonio Benedetto Carpano, mixing herbs and spices with muscat wine, invented Vermouth in his shop in front of Palazzo Reale and, sure of the goodness of the new product, he sent a basket of it to King Vittorio Amedeo III.

As a tribute to the Savoy aperitif and the history of the city, Platti's barman, Ivan Alizzo, has created two new cocktails : Conte Verde (in the two alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions) and Conte Rosso .

Both cocktails are created to enhance the flavors and ingredients that are part of the food and wine history of Piedmont : Pancalieri mint, Vermouth, Glacé marrons.

CONTE VERDE - like the color of mint - is a tribute to the extraordinary medicinal herb that was brought to Italy for the first time in Turin, in Pancalieri, in the first half of the 19th century and from whose leaves Ivan Alizzo obtains a special mint syrup of Pancalieri adding basil and lemon essential oils.

The non-alcoholic version of Conte Verde is a fresh and thirst-quenching drink typical of Piedmont.

In its alcoholic version it is a drink based on Italian Vodka, produced in Castelnuovo Don Bosco, mixed with mint syrup from Pancalieri, Rosolio Italicus, whose hint of bergamot goes well with the essential oils of the syrup, and tonic water.

Conte Verde is dedicated to Amedeo VI of Savoy , nicknamed the Conte Verde (Chambéry 1334 – Santo Stefano di Campobasso, 1383), a capable commander and skilled statesman. The statue located in the center of Piazza Palazzo di Città, in front of the current Municipality of Turin, solemnly inaugurated in 1853 and depicts him during the victorious battle against the Turks, is dedicated to the count.

CONTE ROSSO is a cocktail based on ancient formula Italian red Vermouth - known for its intense red color - Villa Ascenti Gin, Premium Riserva Bitter and marron glacé velvet.

It is dedicated to the eldest son of Amedeo VI, Amedeo VII of Savoy (Castello di Avigliana 1360 – Castello di Ripaglia 1391), known as the Red Count because of his hair color or, as other historians think, because in 1383, while he was busy in Flanders in a military campaign in defense of the Duke of Burgundy, upon hearing the news of the birth of his firstborn he abandoned mourning for his father's death in favor of wearing red clothes to celebrate.

IVAN ALIZZO . Born in the south of the Aeolian Islands, in Salina, he loves to recall the aromas and flavors of his island in his drinks. He began his career in Salina at just 15 years old, becoming a barman at the 5-star Capo Faro resort and subsequently taking on the role of head barman at Da Alfredo, a very famous venue in the archipelago. He worked in Italy and Spain before arriving in Turin, first collaborating with emerging chefs to pair cocktails with their dishes and then at Platti, where today he holds the role of head barman
