A job that is also a vocation and, at the same time, represents an opportunity for relaunching marginal territories. The case of Carlo Miraglia in Rotonda in Lucania, told by Rai.

He is an interpreter of the beauty and goodness of Italy but can also represent, with his passion, a real stimulus for the relaunch of a territory. This is the case of Carlo Miraglia, who returned to his Lucania, in Rotonda, after many years spent abroad, to open “Pollino DiVino”. The goal? To attract tourists and wine enthusiasts of the region thanks to the recovery of an ancient concept of cellar, becoming an attractor capable of creating spin-offs and making a little-known corner of Italy known.

During the pandemic, he decided to return to the Pollino Park area to open a business that today, a few years later, is proving to be successful, thanks to the resources of the Resto al Sud program.

Carlo, recently interviewed by Rai, is one of the virtuous examples of a professional winemaker, a wine ambassador capable of facing the modern challenges of globalization and artificial intelligence because human value cannot be replaced.

For this reason, AEPI, the Association of Italian Professional Wine Shoppers, organizes the Best Professional Wine Shopper in Italy award, which sees Carlo Miraglia among the 10 best wine shoppers with a glass of wine. << The professional wine shopper is much more than a wine seller. - Says AEPI president Filippo Gastaldi. – His ability is to interpret the needs of the customer and provide strategic advice that, in the case of Miraglia, has extended to the territory. >>

The Best Professional Winemaker in Italy Competition has the very role of increasingly stimulating the ability to analyze and "make a difference" in an increasingly complex profession that knows no crisis.

The final of the competition, where the finalists will compete, will be held on November 11th in the heart of Rome, November 11th at Palazzo Valentini.

The Competition is sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests (Masaf) and the Metropolitan City of Rome. It is organized in collaboration with Vinarius Associazione Enoteche Italiane with the support of the Consortium for the Protection of DOC Cirò and Melissa Wines, the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium, the Collio Consortium, the Friuli Colli Orientali and Ramandolo Consortium, the Trentino Grappa Protection Institute and the Trentino Wine Protection Consortium. Partners of the Competition are the Comité Champagne and the Enoteca del Barolo.
