The course promoted by ONAV and the University of Turin opens the enrollments after the first edition is sold out.

Established by the Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Food Sciences of the University of Turin in collaboration with the ONAV, National Organization of Wine Tasters, the school has been a great innovation in Italy. The aim is to provide expert tasters, operators in the wine sector, winemakers and sommeliers , updates and insights on the tasting technique and methodology, acquiring all the tools to define the characteristics deriving from varietal expression, territory and winemaking techniques. The final objective is to acquire skills to objectively evaluate the quality level of wines and to express impartial judgments for the national and international enhancement and promotion of enology.

The first edition welcomed just under 110 students who, during the month of May, attended the last scheduled lessons but online and in June they took the exam to obtain the coveted title and diploma.

The new course is organized in modules for a total of 60 hours, which will develop in the period November 2020 - March 2021, at the Grugliasco Campus of the University of Turin. In the name of respect and safety with regard to the restrictions linked to Covid-19, the lessons will allow 80 students to obtain, after passing the final exam, the diploma of Master Wine Taster, which can only be awarded to already expert tasters ONAV, qualification that is obtained after having successfully attended the 1st and 2nd level ONAV courses. Any other participants will be given a certificate of attendance issued by the University of Turin.
