It consolidates its project of hospitality, sustainable agriculture and wine production, catering and protection of local products.

The Riva degli Etruschi Resort in San Vincenzo (LI) will become the Slow Food House of the Slow Food Costa degli Etruschi Convivium starting in September 2026. The Mariva Dune , one of the facility's spaces, will host assemblies, conferences, meetings, and training sessions, providing a permanent home for the Convivium and consolidating the five-year relationship with Slow Food.

Riva degli Etruschi is a historic establishment with over 60 years of experience, nestled in 35 hectares of parkland on the San Vincenzo coast. In addition to more than 400 accommodations, a kilometer of private beach, and six restaurants, it includes an organic farm producing vegetables, grains, and wine, and an olive oil farm, which contribute to a virtuous model in which hospitality, agriculture, and catering are closely intertwined.

The collaboration with Slow Food and the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo (UNISG) began in 2021 based on shared principles: protecting biodiversity, short supply chains, supporting local producers, and promoting an increasingly informed gastronomic culture. Over the years, this journey has led to concrete projects, such as Tenuta Guardamare, a farm owned by the Resort, which extends across 35 hectares where ancient grains and vegetables are grown organically for the resort's kitchens. These are complemented by the vineyards and wine production of Riva degli Etruschi, which benefits from the enological expertise of Attilio Pagli, in a system that aims to create an ever closer connection between what grows in the land and what ends up on the plates and in the glasses of the Resort's guests.

Among the most important projects of this journey is the Val di Cornia Violet Artichoke, a historic local crop, protected by the Slow Food Community since 2022. Riva degli Etruschi is among the very few producers of this variety, which it grows on its Guardamare Estate and features on the menus of its restaurants. The relationship with Slow Food also directly involves the restaurant industry. Magù , one of the resort's six restaurants, has become a Slow Food Friend Local , thanks to its work with the Convivium and local communities and its promotion of vegetables from the garden and local ingredients. The same principle inspires events like Vini Bagnanti , an annual event whose gastronomic offerings feature local artisans and producers connected to the Slow Food community.

Tenuta Guardamare's winemaking project has also found synergy with the world of Pollenzo: the 2020, 2021, and 2023 vintages of the Marittimo white wine have been welcomed into the Pollenzo Wine Bank , the archive dedicated to preserving and enhancing the expressions of Italian wine production.

Over the years, Riva degli Etruschi has also been chosen by Slow Food to host important institutional events, including the Regional Assembly of Slow Food Tuscany Members and the presentation of the 2026 Guide to Extra Virgin Olive Oils . The creation of Casa Slow Food therefore represents a further strengthening of a long-standing relationship.

Further consolidating this path will be Riva degli Etruschi's participation in Terra Madre Salone del Gusto 2026 in Turin (September 24-27) , one of the most important international events dedicated to food, biodiversity, and food systems, at the end of September. Riva degli Etruschi will be the only accommodation facility in Tuscany and one of the few Italian hospitality businesses to participate in the event .

The resort will have its own stand and will also participate in some of the official conferences. Tenuta Guardamare labels will also accompany a workshop hosted by the Wine Bank. Biodiversity, the theme of the 2026 edition, will be central to the event, addressed through the experience gained in San Vincenzo, which connects hospitality, organic farming, winemaking, catering, and the protection of local produce.

For Riva degli Etruschi this is a return to Terra Madre after its participation in 2022 , when the organization was present with a stand dedicated to the theme of “Regeneration”.

The new Casa Slow Food and participation in Terra Madre thus represent two stages of the same journey, the one undertaken by Riva degli Etruschi to make hospitality not just a receptive activity, but a tool with which to protect the territory, support its production and spread a food culture founded on the principles of “good, clean and fair” .

Etruscan Shore

Riva degli Etruschi, in San Vincenzo on the Etruscan Coast, is a resort with over 60 years of history. The resort extends across 35 hectares of parkland with over 8,000 trees and shrubs and includes more than 400 accommodations, including rooms, villas, and residences , six restaurants, an organic farm, and a sustainable winery.

Among the farm's products, grown on the Guardamare Estate, which extends over 35 hectares between San Vincenzo and Baratti, are heirloom vegetables and grains, the Val di Cornia Violet Artichoke, a Slow Food Community product, and 6 hectares of vineyards. The extra virgin olive oil comes from the olive trees of the 34-hectare Tenuta Biliotto in Bagno a Ripoli (Florence), with over 5,000 centuries-old trees .

The gastronomic offering is divided into the resort's six restaurants: Mariva Dune , dedicated to fine dining; Nautico , with seafood cuisine; Mistral , dedicated to Tuscan cuisine; All'Orto , with a zero-mile proposal linked to the products of the organic agricultural area; Magù , a restaurant and pizzeria, Locale Amico Slow Food; Colto, an agricultural piadineria with zero-mile ingredients.
