"We are satisfied with the result achieved for the European quality wine sector with the signing of the EU – Mercosur agreement - commented Giangiacomo Gallarati Scotti Bonaldi, President of Federdoc - The protection of 349 European Geographical Indications will allow our companies to grow further in South American countries, promoting the added value and uniqueness of which they are an expression as excellences of origin. The elimination or reduction of duties, which makes this agreement complete, will allow us to increase the competitiveness of our companies in Mercosur markets . The agreement also contains results in line with the sustainability policy pursued by the European Commission, thanks to the inclusion of compliance with the Paris Agreement on climate and strong commitments on deforestation"
