The delivery of the Golden Glasses and the delivery of trophies and diplomas of merit of the “Calice d’Oro” wine competition took place. Here are all the best award–winning wines
In Novara, the “Calice d’Oro dell’Alto Piemonte” competition proclaimed its winners, with many authorities present at the celebration of the best wines.
«The competition has been conceived by the collaboration between the bodied of the Chamber of High Piedmont and is an example of the synergy between territories very often invoked, but not yet in existence at the political and administrative level, and that, instead, is already a reality in the wine and, more generally, entrepreneurial world». Paolo Rovellotti, of the Chamber of Commerce of Novara, said.
Moreover, Diego Sozzani, President of the Province of Novara, highlighted: «Politics is always lagging behind economic times: the alliance between territories is essential, starting from those of the wine sector, which must necessarily follow the industrial ones».
And to conclude, the comment by Giuseppe Martelli, General Manager of Assoenologi: «Data on the development of the wine market, while not definitive, are recording and increase of sales of Italian wines abroad by 8.2% in value and a decrease by –3.5% in volume compared to 2012. In practice, we export less and less bottles, but of higher quality. The roots in the districts should not be a limit, but a starting point: we need to understand the taste of the consumer and let him know our history and traditions, without imposing productions».
Three are the super category winners and 40 are the wines that have been awarded a certificate of merit: 7 certificates to the Colline Novaresi, Coste della Sesia and Valli Ossolane Doc White category, 20 in the one of Colline Novaresi, Coste della Sesia and Valli Ossolane Doc Red and Rosé, and 13 in that of Nebbiolo from aging.
