The best organic wines were awarded by Legambiente in the context of 'Festambiente', the national festival of the association, which took place in Maremma.
The wines that participated were examined by a committee chaired by Giancarlo Scalabrelli, Professor of Viticulture at the University of Pisa and composed by Roberto Bruchi, oenologist member of the Wines National Committee, Giuseppe Ferroni, agronomist of the Cultivation and Defense of the Wood Species Departments of the University of Pisa, Carlo Tenerini, AIS sommelier, Mirella Tirabassi, AIS sommelier, and the oenologist Enrico Bachechi.
The special event was organized with the sponsorship of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Pisa, of the Enoteca Italiana of Siena, and in collaboration with 'La Nuova Ecologia' and 'Tuttobio'.
Three are the new awards introduced this year:
'New Entry Award' to Piera Martellozzo Spa, of San Quirico (Pn),
'Special Award dedicated to the companies with the highest number of wines selected' to Colle Massari Spa Cinigiano (Gr),
'Loyalty Award' to The Farm Il Duchesco of Alberese (Gr) that has successfully participated in the event for many years.
