The jury of the BIWA – Best Italian Wine Awards " anticipated the 50 winners in the competition by Luca Gardini, Best Sommelier in the World WSA 2010 and Andrea Grignaffini, food and wine expert.


After 3 days of careful tasting, the top of the ranking went to Valpolicella Monte Lodoletta 2008 produced in Val d’Illasi by the Romano Dal Forno company.

The most represented region was Piedmont with 21 bottles, and to follow, Tuscany with 15 labels, Lombardy (3), Campania (2), Alto Adige (2), Marche (2), Sicily (2), Abruzzo (1), Puglia (1), Veneto (1) and Sardinia (1). Notably absent: Friuli.
