The Consorzio Italia del Vino is 15 years old and, despite the challenges posed by the current global context, it looks to the future with new projects , focusing on training and common values and continuing to believe in the strength of the Italian wine sector. The 25 consortium members constitute the largest association of companies in the sector , with a total turnover of over one and a half billion euros and an export share equal to approximately 15% of the national value.
The Italia del Vino Wine Business School will start next year, a training course that aims to combine the skills provided by important scientific and university bodies with the specificities of the production fabric and the needs of the market, as announced during the traditional Christmas toast by the President of the Consortium Roberta Corrà , who was reconfirmed in the role this year until 2027. “The biggest news of 2025 for the Italia del Vino Consortium will be the activation of the Italia del Vino Wine Business School , of which we are the creators and organizers. An interesting training project on viticulture and oenology , with particular attention to marketing, communication of wine and the territory, which in addition to the theoretical part also includes a period of internship in associated companies. The aim is to discover talent , connecting supply and demand for the benefit of both. At the end of the training course, the 5 best students will receive a fixed-term employment offer, lasting one year”.
In addition to the Wine Business School, for the coming year the Consortium has planned research on emerging markets and new consumer trends , proposing itself as a privileged observatory for trends in the wine sector.
The global economic context remains uncertain. However, in 2024, Italian wine imports remained stable in many markets, with some categories recording positive performances . Italian sparkling wines, for example, had significant increases compared to the first nine months of 2023: 2% in value and 4.4% in volume. In particular, in France and Australia, growth approached or exceeded double-digit percentages in both value and volume. Despite a slight overall decline, the USA recorded increases of 4.2% in value and 2% in volume for bottled still and sparkling wines.
With the initiatives implemented, which aim to create new skills , and thanks to an in-depth analysis of the data , the Consorzio Italia del Vino demonstrates that, even in times of uncertainty, the Italian wine sector can grow and look to the future with confidence and determination.
