Moscato di Terracina

It is a variety of Moscato issued exclusively in the southern part of Lazio and is used both as table grape and for wine production. The origin of its name comes from the greek Anathelicon moschaton, then called by the Romans "uva apiana", due to its ability to attract bees (api), thanks to its sweet aroma. The vine was native of the eastern Mediterranean basin, and was brought to Italy by Greek settlers, as evidenced even by the current presence of Moscato in the territory formerly known as Magna Grecia. Moscato di Terracina has a medium-large, five-lobed leaf, a medium-sized and pyramid-shaped bunch, and spherical, with waxy skin and yellow-green color grapes.
