Malbo Gentile

It is one of the most important grape varieties in the region and has unknown origin. It has spread widely in recent decades, because it began to be used for vinification, both in single-variety (especially with carbonic maceration), and in blending with the variety of the Modena area, such as Lambrusco. It is widespread only in the area of ​​Emilia, in particular in the provinces of Modena and Reggio and has large, pyramidal-shaped bunches, with medium-sized grapes, with skin covered in bloom and blue-black color.
