Grecanico Dorato

This vine is probably of the same family of Garganega, and even the exact origins are unknown, it is likely to have been imported by the Greeks in Sicily - from where the etymology. It is almost certain that it is the same variety that Francesco Cupani called "Grecani". It is grown especially in the provinces of Trapani and Agrigento, even if it is present in many vineyards of the island. It is a plant with medium, pentagonal and five-lobed leaves, with long, cylindrical and winged bunches, with medium-sized, spheroid, golden yellow grapes with thick and consistent skin.
