Bellenda presents the new Con Alti Colli Trevigiani IGT – Integrale Non Filtrato , a wine without added sulphites with only fermentation in the bottle by indigenous yeasts. The company from Vittorio Veneto (Treviso) has relied on the creativity of the artist Maurizio Armellin to create a label capable of describing the stylistic feature of the wine and of evoking the hills of the Treviso Prealps through simple brushstrokes. “For over fifteen years we have been working on our wines, paying attention to their integrity – declares Umberto Cosmo , owner of Bellenda –, in the bottle we want to bring a product that faithfully reflects the grapes of our hills. Con Alti is in fact the most recent result of a long research that offers a wine made rich by the typical aromas of local grapes. Characterized by a single fermentation that ends in the bottle, unlike other refermented products, it does not require the addition of cold-preserved musts and maintains the natural deposit of yeasts , showing itself in the veiled glass, with fine and delicate bubbles". A sincere wine that is told on a black cotton paper label with bright white and green lines, in turn framed by a transparent glass bottle closed with a crown cap. Through handmade calligraphic signs that are repeated in space in a continuous but irregular way, Maurizio Armellin wanted to recall the Treviso hills on the one hand, and on the other to underline the naturalness with which the Bellenda brand wants to characterize this reference. Con Alti was born in the hilly hamlet of the same name in Vittorio Veneto from vines grown on loose, calcareous soil, rich in glacial moraine residues deriving from the ancient Piave glacier, which once descended from the Fadalto saddle between the Pizzoc and Visentin mountains. The climate, however, sees the alternation of cold winters with hot, non-sultry and windy summers. Precisely in the summer period there is a notable temperature variation between day and night. The grapes derive from a mixed cultivation system: depending on the age of the vines they vary from espalier to bellussera, up to married vines, for an average planting density of 3500 plants per hectare. The harvest is manual and begins in the second ten days of September, from here followed by destemming and pressing with light maceration during fermentation, as tradition dictates. The completion of the fermentation phase takes place in the bottle, when the wine is still lively and has a light residual sugar. All this happens without the addition of sulfur dioxide, in fact the total sulphites do not exceed the value of 10 ppm (parts per million). After vinification , Con Alti appears dry, fresh and savoury, with strong white fruit characters and very evident hints of honeysuckle, white mint, rosemary and acacia flowers. Notes that amplify, reaching - if well preserved - a good complexity both on the nose and in the mouth in the 10 years following the harvest . A sincere gastronomic wine that excellently accompanies simple and convivial meals, offering two different tasting experiences . “It is possible to taste it clear or veiled – explains Umberto Cosmo –. In the first case, open the bottle and, without shaking, pour it into a carafe; in the second instead serve directly in the glasses, at the beginning the wine will be clear and then increasingly richer in its natural deposits”. Con Alti Colli Trevigiani IGT – Integrale Non Filtrato 2022 is available in the company's online shop at the price of 12.00 euros.
