40 Years of Duke Henry: A Vertical Celebration
Bagheria (PA), Sicily – At Identità Golose Milano, the 40th anniversary of the famous Nero d'Avola Duca Enrico di Duca di Salaparuta was celebrated. Alcohol-free wine: boom coming soon
Dealcoholized wine grows by 60% in 2025 , driven by sparkling wines. This was revealed by the Uiv-Vinitaly Observatory . However, Italy remains behind in national production due to regulatory quibbles. Foradori (Tenuta J. Hofstätter): "The real enemy is not alcohol-free wine, but bureaucratic immobility".
Grape Prices Fall: Amarone and Prosecco in Difficulty
The 2024 harvest marks a decline for Amarone (-13%) and Prosecco (-8%). The white wines of Friuli hold up, while Franciacorta and Lugana grow. This is reported by the Italian Telematic Commodity Exchange (BMTI) .
Young people and consumption: more no-alcohol, less traditional wine
Nomisma-Federvini data indicate that young people (23–35 years) prefer low- or no-alcohol wines. Consumption is growing in the USA (54%) and Germany (23%). Still wines are decreasing in favor of cocktails and bubbles.
