The Winemaker's Saturday arrives in Palermo

FIVI (Italian Federation of Independent Winemakers) celebrates its widespread event “Il Sabato del Vignaiolo” throughout Italy. In Sicily, the appointment is in Palermo, at the Villa Filippina Park, where from 10:00 to 19:00 a wine village will take place with tastings, meetings with producers and direct sales. The protagonists are the Sicilian wineries belonging to FIVI, ambassadors of authentic and sustainable viticulture.
Ossola in Cantina: the Prünent biennial returns

Eight wineries open their doors to visitors for a journey into the heart of mountain Nebbiolo, among heroic terraces and flavors of the Val d'Ossola. With a single voucher you can access all the wineries and experience a wine tourism route dedicated to the native Prünent grape variety.

According to Knight Frank’s “Wealth Report 2025,” one hectare in Barolo exceeds $2 million, beating the Bordeaux-Margaux and Napa Valley areas.
Grape prices fall: Barolo and Brunello in difficulty
BMTI data shows drops of up to -13% for Amarone and -9% for Prosecco Conegliano. The 2024 harvest reported growing volumes (12.7%), but prices are not keeping pace.
Stocks as of March 31, 2025: wine and musts down
ICQRF reports 52.8 million hectoliters of wine in the cellar, -0.7% compared to last year. 58.6% is stored in the North, with Veneto as the protagonist.

The problem of alcoholism does not disappear
The ISS reports 8 million Italians at risk for alcohol consumption, 780 thousand with physical/mental damage, but only 8.1% receive assistance. Wine loses share in the habits of Italians.
73% of Italians want sustainable wine
According to Nomisma Wine Monitor, sustainability and certifications influence purchases more than price or brand awareness. Interest in organic, DOP and low environmental impact wines is growing.
