ITALIAN WINERIES

La Regola is “Winery of the Year 2026” with its Strido Riparbella (PI) – The Tuscan winery owned by brothers Flavio and Luca Nuti has won the Gambero Rosso “Tre Bicchieri” award for its Strido Merlot, becoming “Winery of the Year 2026.” This recognition recognizes the sustainable vision and stylistic excellence of the Etruscan coast.

Pasqua Vini acquires Serraglia on Pantelleria, Carole Bouquet's project . A significant move: Verona-based Pasqua Vini acquires 70% of Serraglia srl, the French actress's Pantelleria winery. A new synergy between Italian heritage and international charm is born.

Cantina Produttori Cormons: revenues of €10 million . The 2024/2025 financial statements show a 3.8% increase. Bottled wine sales are increasing and debt is decreasing. President Filippo Bregant: "A result beyond expectations, the result of generational turnover and strategic investments."

Montefiascone – Cantina Sociale convicted of unfair dismissal. The Court of Appeal awards €100,000 in compensation to a worker. This case draws attention to contractual rules in the wine industry.

Marchiori & Count Collalto among the UNESCO Prosecco Hills Visit the hills of Farra di Soligo: the Marchiori Winery promotes the native varieties and heroic viticulture of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, combining craftsmanship, sustainability, and landscape.

Eolia: Salina's new voice in a glass. Founded in 2020 by Luca Caruso and Natascia Santandrea, Eolia showcases the volcanic terroir of the Aeolian Islands, nestled between sea, wind, and light. A young project, yet already iconic for the island of Salina.

Damilano Wineries: The New Generation Takes the Field. At Casa Cipriani in Milan, Damilano celebrates the arrival of Chiara and Alice, heirs of the Piedmontese group, along with the debut of the new Barolo vintages. Paolo Damilano: "Geopolitical challenges, but confidence in the future of Italian wine."

ITALIAN WINE AND NATIONAL OENOLOGY

CIA Campania: Sustainable wine tourism revitalizes inland areas . Carmine Fusco (CIA Campania): "Wine lovers seek authenticity and roots. Campanian wine is both identity and landscape: from Irpinia to Cilento, a heritage worth experiencing."

Sannio: A Land in Ferment. The University of Sannio presents the book "Terra in Fermo," dedicated to the cultural and anthropological value of Falanghina DOC as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. A tale of rebirth and territorial awareness.

Wine rises to altitude and changes flavor. From global warming to research into low-alcohol wines: experimentation at altitude is sparking new trends. Even a Chianti rosé is emerging: tradition is reinventing itself.

“Wine in 300 words”: Terre del Colleoni Doc Incrocio Terzi Gregorio 2021 A rare wine, the result of a Barbera-Cabernet Franc cross: elegant structure, firm tannins, and a long finish.

INTERNATIONAL WINE

67 Pall Mall: the fine wine market is changing. The "London Fine Wine Trends Report" captures a changing audience: less consumption, more authenticity. English wines are growing (up 79% since 2015), South Africa and Germany are emerging, while Bordeaux is declining. Italy remains at the top, with Sicily among the most popular regions.

Paul Gosset, the new Champagne to discover. The young winemaker from Aÿ is winning over critics with his organic, distinctive wines, combining finesse and intensity. The new generation of Champagne speaks the language of the land.

Natural wine, a niche that has become a movement. According to Raisin , there are over 3,000 natural winemakers worldwide (60% in three years). In Italy, they represent 2.5% of the total. Conscious consumption is growing, while the global wine market is declining by 7.5%.

ITALIAN WINERIES AROUND THE WORLD

World's Best Vineyards 2025: Three new Italian vineyards join the ranking. Arianna Occhipinti (Sicily), Masi Cellars (Veneto), and Casanova di Neri (Tuscany) join. Marchesi di Barolo returns, while Tenuta Cavalier Pepe and Castello Banfi remain in the top 100. Italy consolidates its position in global wine tourism.

Vinibuoni d'Italia 2026: Special Awards and Top 300 Ethical and Solidarity Awards: "Vinovisioni" awarded to VIS for the Cremisan Winery (Bethlehem) and "Eticork" awarded to Arnaldo Caprai for his migrant inclusion projects. Social responsibility is now one of the values of Italian wine.

WINE EVENTS

Merano WineFestival 2025 – the Italian wine hub. From November 7th to 11th, over 1,000 wineries and 130 food producers will gather in Merano for the 34th edition of the festival, dedicated to "Vision: Wine & Food Creators." Tastings, masterclasses, and meetings with international buyers.

Calabrian excellence at the Merano WineFestival The Calabria Region and Arsac bring the wines that symbolize southern tradition to the heart of Europe, combining promotion and territorial identity.

Weekend events November 7–9: Italy's wine region celebrates San Martino. From north to south, with fairs, festivals, and open cellars, villages and castles come alive with autumnal scents. In Castel Thun (Trentino), the Feast of San Martino takes center stage, featuring tastings, markets, and sensory experiences.

Wine Club Partesa 2025: Wine Meets Conscious Catering. Over 50 wineries discuss training, sustainability, and new approaches to the HoReCa channel. Alessandro Rossi: "The future lies in quality and expertise."

EUROPEAN OENOLOGY AND SECTOR POLICIES

EU Wine Package: Protection for heroic vineyards and innovations for producers. The European Parliament recognizes "heroic viticulture" as an environmental and cultural asset. Cervim expresses satisfaction: "A historic achievement for mountain areas."

Confagricoltura: Progress made, but critical issues remain. Extension of replanting permits to eight years and incentives of up to 80% for climate investments. Management flexibility issues remain.

Fedagripesca: 80% promotion rate is a good thing, but stability is needed. Luca Rigotti: "A step forward for European competitiveness and for winemaking cooperatives."

CIA-Italian Farmers: Improving economic sustainability. The "Wine Package" has been approved, but structural adjustments and greater autonomy for member states are needed. The CIA proposes introducing the option of wines with a lower alcohol content.

SURVEYS AND TRENDS

Alcohol-free wine, the new frontier of conscious drinking . Interest in "no and low-alcohol" products is growing. Young people are seeking lightness and health without sacrificing taste. Take part in the survey on WineIdea.it.
