The Partesa Wine Project enriches its vast portfolio of quality labels by bringing to Italy the productions of one of the oldest wineries, known throughout the world for its prestigious Sauternes.
The pearls of Sauternes arrive in Italy : Partesa , a leading company in Italy in sales, distribution, consultancy and training services for the Ho.Re.Ca. channel, has signed an import and distribution agreement with Château de Fargues , a wine company the oldest and most renowned in the world for its long history of producing sweet wines.
Located in the prestigious Sauternes appellation, in the heart of Bordeaux, Château de Fargues is a unique example of continuity and longevity : the estate, founded in the 14th century , has belonged to the Lur Saluces family since 1472, who, generation after generation, have refined the art of making Sauternes wines to the point of making them synonymous with quality and refinement , a true icon of French winemaking excellence .
Alexandre de Lur Saluces, now leading the estate together with his son Philippe, is determined to preserve the legacy and authenticity of Château de Fargues. For this reason, he has introduced new winemaking techniques to further improve the quality of the wines without compromising their integrity, in a perfect balance of tradition and innovation and in full compliance with the family motto, "Noch" , that is: "always ahead in the pursuit of quality, elegance, refinement, without any compromise”. With this philosophy, Château de Fargues never puts imperfect vintages on the market (this is the case, for example, of the 1972, 1974, 1992 and 2012), but only wines of exceptional elegance, complexity and longevity which, thanks to the partnership with Partesa , can also be tasted in Italy in a selection of special vintages, from 1994 to 2016 .
« We are extremely proud to welcome a producer of such great prestige as Château de Fargues into the Partesa for Wine family and to bring its sublime Sauternes to Italy. This partnership, founded on the shared value of quality, production on the one hand and distribution on the other, will allow the Italian market to discover and appreciate the extraordinary wines of the Lur Saluces family, which we are certain will be welcomed with enthusiasm by the entire Ho .Re.Ca. and by all Italian wine lovers» comments Alessandro Rossi, Partesa's National Category Manager Wine .
«The Lur Saluces family works with the greatest possible ambition to produce a unique wine. After major investments in the vineyard, in the cellars and in the historic 14th century fortress, the time has come to give the wine of Château de Fargues the distribution it deserves. The Italian market is particularly important for us, due to the cultural closeness that binds us to the Italians but above all due to the Piedmontese origins of our family: we descend from the last Marquis of Saluzzo, whose titles and arms we proudly wear with the Iron Crown which adorns each of our bottles – explains Philippe de Lur Saluces, owner of Château de Fargues . We are pleased to have found in Partesa a dynamic and first-rate partner to whom we can entrust our wine for distribution throughout Italy, and to open the doors of our cellars to all its customers, giving them access to the latest vintages on the market but also to the treasures that we have jealously kept for many years. We therefore approach this alliance with confidence and enthusiasm."
