Inclusive Raboso: the grape harvest is renewed at Cecchetto with the AIPD guys

Friday 13 October 2023 from 3.00 pm to 5.30 pm , the children of the Italian Association of Down syndrome people (AIPD) – sec. Marca Trevigiana will return to Az. Agr. Cecchetto Giorgio for the traditional appointment with the inclusive harvest of Raboso del Piave . The nineteenth edition of the initiative will involve winemakers for a day in harvesting the first bunches of the native Treviso variety. Helped by families, friends and volunteers, the young people will press and extract the must using an ancient press to return in the spring to bottle 1500 bottles with a hand-drawn and signed label . They will then be numbered and presented at Vinitaly 2024 , in the stand of the Veneto Region . “This year's harvest will be particularly heartfelt as it will be the first without Giorgio, who had started this solidarity and inclusion project since 2005 – declares Marco Cecchetto – These guys were in my dad's heart and they had a bond with him deep. In fact, there were many occasions during the year in which he involved them so that they could express themselves and make themselves known. My brothers, Alberto and Sara, and I had the opportunity to share many harvests with them and we will certainly carry forward this and many other initiatives with AIPD with enthusiasm." The initiative promoted by the company was created to represent the territory and its history, to tell how Raboso del Piave - the only native red grape variety of the Treviso area - can show solidarity . The kids will be protagonists in all phases, from harvesting the grapes to bottling, to creating the label, up to the final presentation at Vinitaly. A project that is repeated from year to year and which, being part of the AIPD social autonomy project , aims to support the entire community because for Cecchetto it is essential to do business in a shared and inclusive way
