Inauguration of the new headquarters of the Suvereto and Val di Cornia Consortium

In the presence of institutions, associations and producers, the headquarters of the Consortium for the protection of Suvereto and Val di Cornia wines were inaugurated. A space that, in the words of the president Nico Rossi, wants to represent "the house where to plan together the future of the territory, which has in the protected denominations a reason for prestige and a factor of economic growth that should not be underestimated". Located in the historic center of Suvereto, at the foot of the medieval fortress that dominates the village, the new headquarters enjoys a privileged view of the Val di Cornia, a small terroir straddling the Maremma of Grosseto and Livorno. “A space where water is the dominant element – continues the President – thanks to the presence not only of the homonymous river and the Tuscan Sea, but also of the many thermal springs present”. From grassroots associations to local institutions, all the speakers agreed on the importance of a collective effort for the growth of local viticulture, centered on the denominations Suvereto Docg, Rosso della Val di Cornia Docg and Val di Cornia Doc. “Wine and vineyards – concludes Rossi – they are an integral part of our history and our landscape. We have the task of linking our glasses more and more to our terroir, so that each bottle produced here is an ambassador of Suvereto and the Val di Cornia, a land marked by nature, medieval villages and a typically Tuscan lifestyle".
