On Friday, October 10, starting at 7:30 pm, the Agriturismo Alle Camelie in Pieve di Compito (LU) will host the second edition of “ La Luna e lo Sfuso ,” the event conceived and created by Lucca-based journalist and taster Fabio Pracchia —together with a group of enthusiasts and industry professionals—and dedicated to quality bulk wine.
Following the success of its first edition, the event returns with a special collaboration: that of Slow Food Lucca Compitese Orti Lucchesi , which has chosen to include it—despite its autonomy—in the " Waiting for Slow Beans " calendar of initiatives. This recognition highlights the cultural and social value of bulk wine, which combines flavor, sustainability, and conviviality. This year, the event is also enriched by the partnership with Sfusobuono , a project and community that has been working for years to restore the centrality of bulk wine, promoting a simpler, more sustainable, and accessible approach to drinking well. Sfusobuono's sponsorship stems from a shared vision: bulk wine is not a stopgap, but a cultural and contemporary gesture that speaks to the environment, community, and conviviality. " Drinking quality bulk wine ," explains Pracchia, " means returning to the origins of wine, combining flavor, ecology, and community. Bulk wine is neither nostalgia nor folklore: it is a contemporary act, which speaks to sustainability, a shared economy, and participatory culture ." Behind the act of choosing and drinking bulk wine lies a universe of meanings that make this approach more relevant than ever. First and foremost, there is an educational value , because wine is born bulk, and tasting it this way educates the palate on its original flavors. Then there is an ecological value , linked to the reuse of glass and the reduction of waste and emissions—simple yet concrete gestures. A cultural value emerges from the direct relationship recreated between producer and enthusiast, without filters or mediation. There is also an economic value , that of the so-called "source price," dear to Luigi Veronelli, which reduces speculation on bottled wine. Finally, there is also a political value , which considers wine not just a commodity, but a cultural asset capable of inspiring participatory economies. The evening, which will take place in the splendid farmyard of the Agriturismo Alle Camelie, in the green heart of the Compitese area, will be a true community celebration. Visitors will find bulk wine producers from Tuscany and other regions , with tasting stands and the option to purchase directly. Alongside them, producers from the Earth Market – LunedìBio will be offering bread, vegetables, honey, cheeses, and other specialties, while the Micheli farm will be offering locally sourced meat. A convivial atmosphere will continue, thanks to live music throughout the evening. Guests will also have the opportunity to bottle a liter of their favorite bulk wine , choosing it directly from the stalls and personalizing it with a dedicated label featuring the event's logo. Guests are, of course, encouraged to bring their own bulk container , in keeping with the event's ethos of sustainability and recycling. Finally, a space will be dedicated to the wine corner : a small stage open to producers and enthusiasts, where those who wish can share their experiences or personal insights into the world of bulk wine. Admission to the evening will be subject to availability , with a maximum of 100 entries. To fully enjoy the experience, you can purchase a booklet of vouchers on site to use for tastings of the wines and foods offered by the producers present.
